Thrift Store Mannequins
While prowling my local thrift stores I came across some remarkable mannequins. I thought they were unusually beautiful and lifelike, and a little bit sad. Over a few days, I photographed them with my iPhone (using the Hipstamatic app), and then suddenly they disappeared. I don't know what became of them but now I miss them. Maybe they were visitors from another dimension. I hope they're in a better place now.
Prints are 7in x 7in on Fabriano Artistico paper. The process used to make the prints was "Gum-over-cyanotype", meaning two layers of gum bichromate (red PV19 and yellow PY150) printed over a cyanotype (blue) base layer.
