Upon retiring in 2006 after 30 years as a research geologist, I began in earnest to explore the wide world of photography. I do not hold a university degree in fine art or photography, nor was I given a vintage camera as a gift by an aging relative when I was a child. Nevertheless, I consider myself a fully-engaged amateur photographer and printmaker. I satsify both my analytical and expressive impulses by combining 21st-century analog and digital devices with 19th-century historic (alternative) printing processes to create handmade photographic images.
